LAST WEEK'S ROUND UP: A light to moderate trade developed in
most areas on Wednesday and Thursday with Southern live deals
ranging from $126 to $127, mostly $127, generally $1 lower than
last week's weighted averages. Northern dressed business ranged
from $203 to $206, mostly $204, also $1 lower than last week's
weighted averages. Due to severe weather conditions across much
of feeding country last week, we expect that weekly trade
volume totals will be somewhat lighter than normal. According
to the Friday afternoon Mandatory reports weekly trade volumes
were as follows: KS 19,481; NE 20,016; TX 5,784; CO 5,041; IA

DTN MORNING COMMENTS: The country is quiet this morning with
bids and asking prices not established as of yet. Significant
trade volume will likely be delayed until the second half of
the week. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower with generally
light box movement.
For the week ending March 09, 2019, Imported Beef Passed for
Entry in the U.S. totaled 36,935, 92.72% of the previous week
and 98.01% of the prior 4-week average.
